What's really interesting about that fact is that "evolutionary biology" would seem to indicate that differentiating between different shades of green would be a useful trait to evolve in a "pre-civilization" setting, considering most of the natural world (in a non-arctic/non-desert terrain) is mostly shades of green and grey. It would be interesting to see if our ability to differentiate shades of green correlates with our ability to see corresponding shades of grey.
