Hoarding Solution by RyanSmithNin funny

As a pawn broker who has seen hoarders, I can confirm that no pawn shop wants that trash.

So I saw this on my flight by ryio11in WTF

[–]threeballs 0 points1 point ago

Sat behind a guy on a long flight who found that the most comfortable position for him to relax was with his hand in my face hanging over the top of his backrest. As soon as the movie came on I let him know that I cant see the screen with his hand resting there. He said sorry and moved it, but spent the next 10 hours reaching for that spot and catching himself. I was not watching the movie. I do not like a stranger's hand hovering over my tray table with snacks and food. Anyone else feel that the back or the seat in front of you is your rented space and not that of the occupier of that seat?

15 minutes ago I almost died. I was ratcheting a 3500 lbs boat onto a trailer and the hook point broke. It missed my head by less than an inch. What near death experiences have you had Redditors? by Ecuatorianoin AskReddit

[–]threeballs 2 points3 points ago

I was 11 and water skiing with a friends family. By buddy was in the water and I was at the back of the boat when he yelled, "Hit it!" His father hit the throttle. I noticed that the line (rope) was looped around my leg near the tie-off and screamed as it began tightening around my calf. Lucky for me his father pulled back the throttle when he did. Another second or two and I would have been twisting around in the propeller. 33 years later it still freaks me out to think about.

I found one just like his in the middle of the street in front of my previous residence. A lady down the block said it was hers and took it. The next day she called and said that she now has two tortoises in her yard and would I please come and take it back. I eventually found the other neighbor who it belonged to.

Experienced guitarists...if you had to go back to the beginning again knowing what you know now, what are the major things you would focus on for your first 3 years of playing? by pie_heavenin Guitar

[–]threeballs 7 points8 points ago

Chords. I just wanted to shred. Now, after 35 years, I can rip all up and down the neck much better than I can play chord progressions. Writing music is the ultimate goal. The soloing goes over a portion of the chord progression in most music. I would also focus on tone. Learn to produce as much tone from your fingers as possible before relying on your gear. Keep your gear fairly low watt. In my early days, volume was the big deal. Now My hearing suffers. Lower watt tube amps tend to have better tone. I no longer use Marshall amps (only small tweed Fenders for me), but a 50 watt Marshall amp will sound better than the 100 watt amp, and allow you to turn the volume down and still get a screaming tone. Finally, don't use electric strings that are lighter than 10"s. Oh, and I almost forgot one very important thing. Smoking weed can help when you are not in the mood to play or practice. It also makes pie taste....heavenly.

Beware! Fretted Americana is WAY overpriced on every guitar they sell. Simply ridiculous, but nice people.

Let's talk string tension... by throwawyacctin Luthier

The stop tailpiece height on a Les Paul will alter your string tension by lengthening or shortening the string length.

What's up with the road worn look? by pnjtonyin Guitar

My theory is that the older guitars that are beat up sounded better when they were new, therefore played more, hence, got beat up. I have encountered many vintage guitars in mint condition that don't sound good or play well. Because they didn't have the mojo when they were new, they weren't played as much and did not get beat up. It's easy to mistake this for lack of paint being more resonant, but it's the other way around. They were more resonant first, then got used a lot and worn. My '62 strat is beat to shit and a tone machine. It's condition has worsened over the years I've owned it, but it sounds no different then the day I got it. My '62 Jaguar is dead mint and I hate playing it. It will remain dead mint for as long as I own it.

So I found the program from my first concert ever...(Don't judge) by AeroZepin Music

[–]threeballs 1 point2 points ago

First concert 1978 The Village People. Mom bought tickets for the whole family. I was 10 years old. Donna Summer was the warm up act. My parents were asked some tough questions that night. "Mom, why are those guys kissing each other?" A few songs later: "Mom, why does the cigareete that the kissing guys are smoking smell funny?"
