Other than waiting tables, every job I've ever had has been in film production of one kind or another. One thing just led to another.

While I've worked as a shooter in various capacities, it was never my main goal or area of interest, and post-production always has been. So the GGW job was really just a one time thing when I was looking to pay bills.

No one puts a gun to these girls' heads and makes them do anything. Our 'tactics' consisted solely of talking to them and asking questions that would hopefully lead to something more revealing.

Never once in my time doing this did I or one of my colleagues 'coerce' anyone into doing anything.

As for the legal issues: I dunno. A lawyer would know better. Somehow they've stayed in business all this time, and it's not like the company hasn't been challenged time and time again.

Not sure I ever accused anyone of being 'stupid', though I'd suggest that the ones that partake in this kinda thing and then regret it were perhaps not using all of their brains.

The entire enterprise is predatory by nature: We go out w/cameras hoping to find young women who are lubricated enough to not give a shit and show their goods.

BUT, I definitely think our society has the real problem in that these girls are perceived thereafter as whores and whatnot. Like I said, it's just boobs. Maybe if everyone didn't give a shit so much it wouldn't be such a big deal.

Move to LA or NYC and start working at the bottom as a runner or whatever position you can get, PA, etc.

School for film is a crock of shit. I wish I had never gone.

I'm pretty sure Mexico is littered with these towns. We were in Puerta Vallarta, and it wasn't the first time, nor the last GGW had descended upon that locale. Go there if you must, around Spring Break time. You'll gat an eyeful.

Prior to being hired for the job, I never knew anyone who bought or watched that shit, so I was somewhat dumbstruck to find that there are clearly TONS of people who do.

There are graphic stories to be told, but they're second-hand for the most part, and I'm not too interested in retelling other people's conquests.

While we spent a good deal of time with him, we didn't fraternize with him like that, so I'd guess no.

The whole thing, really. Maybe if I'd been single it would have been different, but the appeal of being away for long stretches of time doing what amounts to grueling, often heartbreaking work, didn't hold much appeal for me.

If you can look past the awkward morality issues, it's a great job, particularly for a straight, young, males, obviously. But I was already 28, these were kids, and I was wanting to move on with my life, personally and professionally.

I honestly don't know about ALL the videos they produce, but from my experience and second hand stories, yes, they were/are real girls - Albeit, real girls who have likely been paid to do the 'scene'. I mentioned elsewhere that there was a cash budget to offer girls if they seemed willing to do such a thing, but asked for money.

Let me try and sum it all up right here:

Being a straight, young, male, there may be no better job than being paid to shoot girls flashing their tits. In many ways, it was a lot of fun.

The big picture reality though is a different beast all together.

I'm not in any way ashamed of what I did. I never did anything wrong or took advantage of anyone.

BUT, as a grown ass man (now), I wince a bit, when looking back. Like I've said time and time agin in this thread: It's a complex issue. It's not black or white. I don't cast me or my colleagues in this endeavor as bad guys, twirling our mustaches, waiting for girls to fall into our traps and show the goods.

I'm not on here pretending like it was the worst thing I ever did and am looking for redemption. I just thought it was an interesting POV to share w/the Reddit community, of which I am a very new member.

I went to film school, yes. And it was a total and complete waste of time.

Prolly a combination of both, really.

Thanks. I work in post-production, still in LA.

Here's something:

After a night of shooting and dealing with this bag of hammers, we were leaving the club. I was seething with hatred for this guy, yet on the steps outside the club, we passed by a couple of young guys.

They hushed as Mr. Francis passed, and one of them could be heard saying to the other, 'THAT guy is the man! You know who that is??'

And, Joe Francis, king of dicks, turned, flashed the winningest smile I have ever seen and said, 'Hey guys!'

Like a fucking politician. Scariest fucking moment ever.

I don't want to paint myself as a 'good guy cameraman' for GGW. In my, albeit completely limited, experience we were all good guys, just young and dumb enough to do this.

Figure of speech. Meaning, don't just think about getting laid...Shoot the shit first.

Not really sure what you're asking. Are you looking to get into post? The job prospects are good for anyone who has skill, talent, and is willing to work crazy ass long hours.

Puerta Vallarta. For some ungodly reason these girls and their peers flock there. PV has it's finer points, but it's mostly a shithole designed to get kids DRUNK.

That's the thing: No. Not really. They came from all walks of life, but were overwhelmingly white, college-age kids - Either from the US or Canada.

Yes, they all seemed like normal chicks.
