I disagree with your sentiment. The difference is that I strive to be kind and thoughtful in my responses, and I trust that you have honest intentions in what you say and do. Please grant others the same respect. Thank you.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I wish there was something I could do or say to help you calm down. I hope you have a nice day.

You don't need to be their friend. Simple common courtesy is a useful tool in communicating effectively.
I find that being polite is a better approach to take when trying to win people to your side of an argument. Anger doesn't impress anyone.

What made Star Trek (2009) such a pleasant surprise? by robertlo9in startrek

I guess he has nothing to say about it. That's too bad because I like to talk about people's concerns and learn from them when possible. It's unfortunate when people don't leave the door of communication open.
I didn't know that. Thanks for sharing. So it's like the signature he puts on his songs. I can respect that.

Plinkett does a great job emphasizing how the makers of 2009's Star Trek supercharged all the attributes of the characters. Everyone's always running around, and the action is pretty swift. I like how he points out that Star Wars and Star Trek switched places with their prequels. Star Wars became slow and Star Trek got really fast-paced.

Thank you for sharing your jumbled thoughts. :) The first six Star Trek films all focused a lot of attention on Kirk. This one actually did a good job balancing Kirk and Spock as the center of attention. It does have a lot of action, but I like how it manages to fit in some creative situations and intelligent discussions along the way. Red Matter is just a plot device. Even though it isn't explained well, I think that's forgivable because it's never meant to be the focus of the film.
There's plenty of room in the Star Trek universe for parallel dimensions. I think this actually creates more suspense because a main character can die in this universe without affecting the main timeline, so anything can happen. I didn't like the sexy aspects of it, either, by the way. You're definitely right about that one. That was really unnecessary. Thank you very much for sharing!

Good point. I don't get the "Does It Still McFly" pun. Is it because this movie has time travel and so does Back to the Future? :P
Was it too different from the other Star Trek films for your taste? What was it that you didn't like about it?
I can understand that. Thanks for explaining. I think that this movie was certainly trying to have strong humanistic themes, with great scenes between Spock and his father, and Kirk and Spock Prime. Nero could have been a much more epic villain. I would have loved to have seen more interaction between him and the two Spocks.

Seriously. It called back to the classic themes without copying. I also love Giacchino's work on The Incredibles.
What do you disagree on? I'm interested in hearing.
