As myroadtonowhere said, what I usually do when moving to a new place is first call my insurance and get a list of who is in the area and who takes my insurance. They usually have a pretty broad list in urban areas, and good coverage in more suburban areas. You shouldn't have a problem finding at least one person near you in Marietta.

I have certain standards to narrow down from the list. For example, I prefer women, and I prefer social workers to straight-up psychiatrists. I've found that people with a degree in social work are much better at getting me to open up and seem more trustworthy; if you've never been to one, perhaps you may consider that.

And of course, it sometimes takes many tries before finding someone whom you trust and fit well with. There is no shame in deciding after a first meeting that a person is not a good fit for you, and you should feel free to stop going or look for someone else. A relationship with a psychiatrist/psychologist is just like any other relationship: sometimes you get along well, sometimes you don't. It's no fault of yours if you don't get along with the other person; you're just not compatible.
