Uh... no. He isn't doing it right. This dude needs to chill out. As a parent you should never, ever, make decisions out of pure anger. That's how abuse happens. As a responsible parent, he needs to back up, get some perspective, then decide what to do.

Does his daughter deserve to get punished? Yeah. Sure. I'd punish my kid if he pulled that kind of crap and showed such an utter lack of perspective. But frankly, that kind of behavior is typical of 90% of all teenagers and doesn't deserve an out-sized response. It sounds to me like she could benefit from a positive role model... and he isn't a candidate.

A quick tangent here. I went out to dinner last night and a bearded lady walked in. Like ZZTop bearded. She had a huge thick full beard growing down several inches. It was awesome!

I don't see this mentioned much, but for some of us, no matter how bad we want it, we will never be an attractive female. Perhaps we have a large brow or broad shoulders, or perhaps we are older now have receding hair and a 5 o'clock shadow that won't go away. For myself, I have given up CDing because I can't be a pretty young thing. Age has taken that away. I guess I'm just saying that you should have realistic expectations. If you really believe you can attain a look that will make you happy by losing a little weight, then go for it. But if not, then don't beat yourself up about it. Try to be happy in your own skin.

I broke down and got a google phone. bigger brighter screen, faster processor, more apps. After living with it for a week I am certain that I am never going to love this phone like I did the pre. The interface on this phone is a joke. It is like the whole windows vs. apple thing. Yes, windows kicks ass on the specs vs apple, but you can't beat the simplicity of a Mac.

My wife still has her Pre and I am kind of jealous.
