Hmm, I'll look that up! Perhaps this may be similar to you, but I don't consider myself to be spiritual either, as I consider myself to be a scientist. I am also a hardcore atheist and I used to be a hardcore sceptic. But I've read so many sincere accounts of the paranormal that I felt compelled to search for the truth, which is what I think my venture into meditation is really about.

Thanks for your input! I've never achieved anything out of the ordinary. But as up to now, I've been just trying to achieve deeper states of meditation. I don't have much guidance so I've really just been experimenting meditating usually while laying down. I've read about "exit techniques" and stuff about astral projection but I haven't seriously attempted them yet, as I'd like to get a better grasp of meditation.

What do you think is the cellular basis of learning and memory? From the publications I've read, it seems like AMPA-R trafficking is a big part, but what other elements do you think are involved?

Would this really be that bad? I mean I can understand that that it can be unethical. But I think in a best case scenario, this has the potential help a lot of people at a school.

At my school, a lack of funding makes a lot of the core lectures for my major like 300-400 people large. I've met plenty of dumbasses and adding a few more (in the worst case) certainly wouldn't make much difference for me, if that meant hiring more professors to make my education more personable. In some other majors (i.e. politics) the wait list is often longer than the actual class roster.

Also, there are a lot of outdated equipment, chemistry labs with broken stuff, that I would gladly have replaced if it meant accommodating some rich kids. I really don't think it's much different from lowering academic standards for athletes.
