Ah, yes. Slipped my mind, lol.

What are some generally loved players that you can't seem to like, no matter how hard you try? by TheRiseOfMathsin nfl

[–]alecjh33 36 points37 points ago

Oh absolutely. He is a great football player but he just seems like a full-blown dumbass jock that was heavyweight champion at all of the high school/college parties.

I remember reading that too. Mixed feelings about that, I wonder what a team will look like wearing black as their standard jerseys.

He's wearing 14? That doesn't look nearly as nice as 81, I was really excited to see him in 81 like he was in college....

Probably. But the Jets used to be the NY Titans and their throwback apparel says NY Titans on it so they can't own rights to the name. I'm not sure.

Say Russell Wilson wins the starting job for the Seahawks. What happens to Matt Flynn? by cyxyin nfl

[–]alecjh33 -1 points0 points ago

He was good. I watched a lot of Wisconsin football in the past few years. He just wasn't great. He wasn't quite at the level of Andrew Luck or RG3. If he was, teams would have made exception of his height and drafted him in earlier rounds.

These backup quarterbacks aren't rookies, though. I believe you are referring to Seneca Wallace, Derek Anderson, Brady Quinn, etc. And they didn't win many games, either. It's the Browns.

SEC is one of the best (maybe even the best) conferences in the NCAA.

[–]alecjh33 -3 points-2 points ago

True, very good point. And you're right that some guys are NFL-ready coming out of college; but those are guys like Andrew Luck. Peyton Manning. John Elway. Wilson is a 3rd rounder who has not been a great college quarterback. Plus, this isn't the SEC he was playing in. Wisconsin did not play great schools. He is good, but needs work before he can start. Flynn can start.

While there has been talks and it is possible that in the future there is a change, the Thunder have only been in Oklahoma City since 2008. It'd be decades before the NBA would seriously consider the switch.

I think that from the time Flynn played, that since he did exceptionally well it showed he is ready to start games. This is just like any other QB going to a new team, and it's not like QB's moving teams has never worked before. Wilson does need to be coached more than Flynn due to no NFL experience before.

While the Thunder is a cool team and they have nice uni's, Oklahoma City is a weird place to put a team. Seattle is a good place for a basketball team and I wish they could have the Sonics back. Maybe do what the Rays did by taking out the word 'Devil' (taking out the word Super).

Oilers. Then make cool retro uni's and logos derived from the old ones.

I don't think Russell Wilson will win the starting job because:

Matt Flynn:

  • has NFL experience

  • has proven he can play good quarterback

  • deserves to be a starter

  • signed with the Seahawks so he could be a starter

Russell Wilson:

  • is only a rookie

  • fell in the draft due to height

  • needs to be coached and developed before starting

  • hasn't proven that he can play starting QB in the NFL yet

What player award(s) will your team win at the end of this year? by BonerInSweatpantsin nfl

[–]alecjh33 3 points4 points ago

Actually, no. It's about players that were not active the year before and had a remarkable comeback year. Example: Jon Beason was injured all of last year but I think he will have an impressive year back, and it will result in him winning the comeback player of the year award.

It's not often I get to say my team is in first place, so I'm documenting it! by pecotaain baseball

No matter the winning streak, it'd take a miracle to make playoffs. There is ridiculous success from each team in the AL East (besides BOS). In other terms, I am eager to see the battle toward the end of the season regarding who makes playoffs.

It's a remarkable thing, isn't it? The 32nd team was added in 2002, around the time Brady lit up. The dynasty has maintained a great winning percentage since around 2002, hence the immense amount of points scored.
