TROPHY CASE

When the valedictorian at my little brothers grad ended the speech with "YOLO". by Verdaugain funny

I say 'L-O-L' but I use it as a form of sarcasm. Usually when something stupid was super predictable but happens anyways. I also like to exclaim 'curve-ball!' in these situations.

"I got this gum from someone else." What white lies do you tell people? by enterapostin AskReddit

[–]OMG_Its_CoCo 0 points1 point ago

When people ask I have no problem sharing, but I demand a good story or something in exchange. Nothing of property, just a moment of their time to share something about themselves with me. Usually a fun way to start conversation, and you make new friends that way.

The only time I smoke is when I'm rolling, and it has to be menthols! Camel Crushes are my favorite.

TIL that when "South Park" aired its anti-"Family Guy" episode, they received flowers from the crew of "The Simpsons" by quarryryein todayilearned

[–]OMG_Its_CoCo 2 points3 points ago

A story that revolved around South Park and its residents rather than a story that revolves around popular culture and how it affects South Park. As well as the parents becoming progressively stupider and more child like as the children became more intelligent and parent like. I believe that is what the old episodes had over the newer ones.

I feel the exact opposite about South Park. I loved the old stuff, when it was more about the kids and the town. I also really don't care how the characters have changed. I still watch it, but it's rare that it will get a laugh out of me. Doesn't mean I don't enjoy it, but it means I just don't find it funny like I used to. I can't re-watch any of the newer episodes, but that's just like, my opinion man.

I agree, some people can just bounce around and not care. Others don't/can't allow themselves to feel the music and let go, which to me means they need some form of structure. I suggest finding a style of dancing you think looks good and then go learn the basics from youtube. Finding what fits the music best is an easy approach, but do whatever you think fits your personality and interests. I was always able to just dance and have fun, but after learning how to dance I can definitely alpha any dance floor in seconds.

Not to sound super arrogant, but I have seen guys stop dancing around me because I started to dance. They usually just glare at me after that, but just talk, make friends, and everything goes well.

As a meat eater I admit that I have always inquired as to why someone was vegan/vegetarian when I find out they are. I never intend it to be rude, I'm just honestly curious as to why.

Often times people say meat is unhealthy and I like to combat their knowledge on nutrition because on occasion I have found that they are vegan/vegetarian for pseudo-scientific reasons. Again, this isn't everyone, just the occasional person. I am a curious person by nature and like to know about other's lifestyle choices. Religion, animal cruelty, health reasons are all legitimate and I would never try to make anyone feel dumb or bad about their lifestyle.

I even went vegetarian for 6 months as a new years resolution, just to see what it was like and if I could. I did it, I was proud, but I just can't give up meat for a lifetime. Everyone has their reasons, I usually just want to try their food because, well I like food. No smugness intended.

I was really impressed for a minute because when I first saw this I was at work. I happen to work at the YMCA and was so confused as to how it knew and had something referencing it. I also wondered if it was able to do this for all companies as a way to further convince the boss. I'm home now and it still says the YMCA, I'm only slightly disappointed.

Going to a rave alone. by titaniumtoein aves

[–]OMG_Its_CoCo 0 points1 point ago

Depends entirely where you are located (known for being safe?) and if it is an underground rave or a permitted event and the type. I'd say be careful, but if you know anyone in the scene talk to them and try to plan something with them. If you know good people in the scene they often do ride shares through other friends.

I'd say try getting connected with some people who are going to be there. If it is your first I would suggest having someone just in case.

Couldn't this be because he has trained and pushed so hard? The body is astounding at adapting and if it is pushed in that direction hard enough things can eventually change.

I like how you point out rave is counterculture yet you are talking about massive events which are the exact opposite of counterculture and illegality. Massive's are now the mainstream, which is what is watering down the culture. Raving is/was about underground music, not all this sponsorship media hyped bs that it has become. Whether or not the laws are just is an entirely different topic, but at the end of the day it is illegal. If you want to see more of these massive events and the public more accepting of this movement, you need to stop pretending like the drugs don't matter, because they do. This is what the general public thinks of when they hear "rave," and people like Madonna spotlighting it is not going to change that. This type of stuff is what is going to make the police and the federal government crack down on these parties.

The massive scene lost its integrity long ago, stop pretending like this is exactly what raving is about because it is not.
