I've thought about doing that actually. That, along with the history of the US.

I don't know about all of them. I've met a few here and there, who have been pretty down to Earth, and treat everyone with good respect.

I'm willing to listen here. I generally like to hear both sides of an argument.

Would it be more beneficial or harmful if certain "thinking" subreddits (ex: r/politics, r/history, r/technology, etc) implemented a minimum word count for comments? Say, 20 words are needed to write a comment? by District_10in TheoryOfReddit

[–]District_10[S] 2 points3 points ago

By thinking I simply meant discussion, though I see your point. I do think all 3 subreddits are designed for discussion, which is why I labeled them all as "thinking".

So now that we find out Elizabeth Warren is a fraud who gamed the Affirmative Action system by claiming to be "Cherokee" to get jobs at both U-Penn and Harvard, where is the outcry here on Reddit? by IntrepidSIin politics

Like which ones?

I find Brown to be the exact thing my state of MA needs; an Independent voice. I'd much rather have someone who is willing to reach across the aisle than someone who isn't. I mean, he's the 2nd most bipartisan member of Congress. I have doubts Warren would reach out to Republicans as much as Brown reaches out to Democrats.

Not really. There's a 50/50 chance of it being the first choice or not.

ELI5 why the US isn't more concerned with the 50,000 people killed in the last 6 years in the Mexican War? by loverofmostin explainlikeimfive

[–]District_10 0 points1 point ago

Oh yeah that was a stupid thing to do. But if you do track Mexican news, once in a while you'll see something like "Cartel arrested by Mexican authorities with US aid". For the most part though, I think Mexico likes to do it's operations on it's own as best as it can.

We do hear about it. Every so often joint operations make their way into the news. It's just they may not get that big of coverage by the media. Plus, I would think many operations are secrete, for one reason or another. Or at the very least, US involvement is kept secrete.

You're right, Americans might be corrupt too, but it's less likely, as the Americans taking part in the operations have to answer to a non-corrupt government. Aiding the cartels would have dire consequences for an American, whereas they may not for a Mexican, since corruption in the Mexican government is already so large.

The US is concerned about Mexico. US officials are often helping the Mexican army and government in operations against drug lords.

Oh absolutely, I noticed that. I'm just suggesting that because of British aid during the project, it should not be that shocking that they were allowed to test in the US.

Project Manhattan involved the UK and Canada, so when I saw the British test on US soil I wasn't too surprised.
