TROPHY CASE

And you thought Napoleon had an ego: Palpatine crossing the Kerane Valley (x-post r/popcult) by terraryzein StarWars

[–]Astronoid 3 points4 points ago

I really can't imagine Palpatine riding one of those smelly beasts. Perhaps being pulled in a repulsorlift sled by a harnessed team, a bit of luxury. I frankly can't imagine the dude even piloting a TIE fighter. He's much more of a "sit back and let others do the work" kind of guy.

Now Vader, Vader on a Tauntaun, that would be a sight to behold.

A six year old brainwashed into believing another six year old is evil because his family doesn't believe in god? Quite appalling indeed.

As an atheist, I don't like r/atheism. by KingVapein atheism

I honestly find r/atheism to be nothing more than a militant hivemind that lately seems to care mostly about oppressing Christians

What if Jesus had been hung instead? by RebelTacticsin atheism

[–]Astronoid 4 points5 points ago

Crucifixion hurts a LOT more than hanging. Christian theology doesn't work out if he just gets hung, especially if they do it right and snap his neck on the drop. He has to suffer humiliating agony. Gang rape would probably accomplish the same thing but I'm not sure how that could be represented as a religious icon. Perhaps he could have been flayed alive. That would fit the bill and could be easily represented by knives.

Fellow atheists! At what age did you realize that you were so pretentious that you had to berate others for their personal beliefs? by Hameed67in atheism

Your question makes an assumption that must be accepted for the question to be answered. It is not, in fact, a legitimate question.

A lesson from the grammar Nazi by Se7en_Sinnerin funny

[–]Astronoid 0 points1 point ago

Wanting to type quickly is not, nor has it ever been, a legitimate excuse for poor grammar, spelling, etc. The quality of mind expressed in writing is limited by the quality of writing. Punctuation errors are not proof of ignorance but they do indicate mental laziness.

In the case of "Your" and "You're", the mistake is often made by obnoxious douchebags telling someone "your an idiot", the irony being what the punctuation error suggests about the writer.
